In recital at the Lucerne Festival

Seong-Jin Cho returns to the Lucerne Festival on August 24th for an exhilarating and intimate recital. Cho will be joined by violinist Augustin Hadelich for a program that includes Brahms’s Violin Sonata No. 1 in G major, Op. 78, Janáček’s Violin Sonata, Amy Beach’s Romance for Violin and Piano, Op. 23, and Prokofiev’s Violin Sonata No. 2 in D major, Op. 94a.

The South Korean pianist was last seen at the festival in 2024 and 2025, when he performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 alongside the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra led by Myung-Whun Chung, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra under Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and stepped in for Martha Argerich on short notice to play Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia led by Daniel Harding.
