Following his Amsterdam appearance, Seong-Jin Cho embarks on an Italian recital tour, presenting his celebrated collection of Chopin’s Waltzes alongside works by J.S. Bach, Arnold Schoenberg, and Robert Schumann.

The tour visits three historic cultural capitals: Naples’s Teatro di San Carlo on March 10, Turin’s Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi on March 11 (presented by Unione Musicale), and Florence’s Teatro della Pergola on March 14 (presented by Amici della Musica di Firenze).

The carefully curated program bridges Baroque architecture, 20th-century modernism, and High Romanticism. The first half opens with Bach’s pristine Partita No. 1 in B-flat major, BWV 825, followed by Schoenberg’s Suite for Piano, Op. 25—a revolutionary dodecaphonic reimagining of the classical dance suite—and culminates in the vivid, carnival-infused virtuosity of Schumann’s Faschingsschwank aus Wien, Op. 26. Cho devotes the second half entirely to Chopin’s Waltzes, highlighting both the aristocratic salon elegance and deep poetic melancholy that define his acclaimed interpretations.
