Seong-Jin Cho brings his iconic performances of Chopin’s waltzes to audiences in Seattle, WA, Los Angeles, CA, and Costa Mesa, CA, appearing in recital on January 20, 27, and 28. The winner of the 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition, Cho is a master interpreter of the composer’s works, and has been praised for his “technical brilliance and profound musicality” (MusicWeb International) in the repertoire. 

Cho opens the program with 3 diverse works, Liszt’s Les Jeux d’eaux à la Villa d’EsteBeethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 15, Pastorale, and Bartók’s Im Freien Sz 81. In the second half, Cho will play 14 of Chopin’s waltzes, from the famous Minute Waltz to the posthumously-published Waltz No. 14 in E Minor. 

Cho appears on January 20 at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall, on January 27 at LA’s Walt Disney Hall, and on January 28 at Costa Mesa’s Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall.
