Seong-Jin Cho returns to Carnegie Hall on May 17 with an exhilarating recital programme featuring masterpieces by Haydn, Ravel, and Liszt. Renowned as a major star of the Hall, Seong-Jin’s 2022 performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 elevated his status to legendary after stepping in on a single day’s notice with the Vienna Philharmonic. Praised by The New York Times as “expert music-making, notable for its rarity and miraculous execution,” Cho’s performance stunned audiences.

This upcoming recital programme highlights Cho’s extraordinary talent, opening with Haydn’s playful Piano Sonata in E Minor, followed by Ravel’s Menuet sur le nom d’Haydn and Le tombeau de Couperin. The evening culminates with Liszt’s evocative Années de pèlerinage, deuxième année: Italie, inspired by his travels through Italy, showcasing Cho’s virtuosity and artistic depth.
