This week Seong-Jin Cho makes his debut with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, performing Saint-Saëns’ colourful Piano Concerto No. 5. under the orchestra’s Chief Conductor, Ryan Bancroft.

The composer himself remarked that this piece is reminiscent of a voyage on the sea. And it is a voyage Cho and Bancroft will embark on this week too, taking the programme to the Swedish capital, Stockholm, tomorrow before appearing in Gothenburg on Friday 19th April and in Västerås on Saturday 20th April.

The programme will also include Rachmaninoff’s final work, Symphonic Dances and Caroline Shaw’s dreamy and imaginative Entr’acte, inspired by a string quartet by Joseph Haydn.
