Debut with London Philharmonic Orchestra

Seong-Jin Cho makes his highly anticipated debut with the London Philharmonic Orchestra at Royal Festival Hall on April 10. This performance underscores Cho’s burgeoning relationship with London, marking his fifth appearance in just over a year. His engagements have included a recital at the Barbican in February 2023, Wigmore Hall in July 2023, BBC Proms in August 2023, and the season-opening concert with the Philharmonia in September 2023, illustrating his deepening connection with the city’s vibrant musical scene.

Under the baton of Edward Gardner, Cho will enchant audiences with Beethoven’s poetic Fourth Piano Concerto, renowned for its elegance, subtlety, and profound musical expression. The program also features Wagner’s Prelude from Parsifal, weaving ethereal melodies and lush harmonies to evoke spiritual enlightenment. Concluding the evening is Michael Tippett’s Symphony No. 2, a symphonic journey brimming with rhythmic vitality and poignant lyricism.
