This fall, Seong-Jin Cho joins the Czech Philharmonic, giving performances in Prague for their 2025/26 season opening before joining the orchestra on tour in Asia. Cho will play a signature piece, Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major, which was deemed “an ideal showcase for Seong-Jin Cho’s clarity, poise and expressive restraint” (Seen and Heard International).

He joins the orchestra on September 25 and 26 in Prague, under the baton of Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Semyon Bychkov. The orchestra will also play Tchaikovsky’s glorious and gripping Symphony No. 5 in E minor.

In October, Cho will join Bychov and the orchestra for a tour of Asia, with Cho performing Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G, and the orchestra alternating between Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 8 in C minor. Cho and the orchestra will perform in Taipei on October 15, Kaohsiung on October 16, Osaka on October 19, and Tokyo on October 21 and 22.

Cho can be heard playing Ravel’s concerto in his latest release, Ravel: The Complete Solo Piano Works, which celebrates the 150th anniversary of Ravel’s birth. It is available as a digital release and two-set CD under the Deutsche Grammophon label.
